About

Welcome to my kitchen!
I have loved to cook for as long as I can remember. I have been blessed with some great influences over the years. My maternal grandmother (Nana) was a wonderful cook and baker and there were always treats galore both savory and sweet. On Sundays, I loved cooking with my father, being his sous chef for giant pots of tomato sauce with meatballs and sausage, beef stew or a roast on our Faberware spit. Home Ec in junior high was an epiphany, and I became passionate about cooking and even entertained a career in culinary arts. Those being the days before Food Network and celebrity chefs, I was met with lukewarm response and pursued a different path.
As the years have gone by, I have had the opportunity to travel and live overseas in London and Argentina (Buenos Aires), and those experiences have continued to shape my love of cooking, food, wine and stimulated my creativity when ingredients weren’t readily available. Those years also deepened my appreciation for my family and friends. Living abroad was a wonderful adventure, but living far from family meant that friendships took on a different meaning, as we would gather together to celebrate holidays and special occasions, and rely on each other in times of difficulty. Those relationships that we formed are still some of the most special ones to me even today. As one of our close friends used to say, “friends are the family you choose” and it is so true.
It seems that no matter what the occasion, everyone always ends up the the kitchen. So welcome to mine . . . pull up a chair, grab a glass and let’s have some fun!
